2025 was a wonderfully creative year in music, enjoying the chance to realize several goals on my “wish” list in performing, writing, arranging, recording, and mentoring. What an honor to pay tribute to the great ladies of vocal jazz as a featured vocalist on the Jacksonville Symphony concert series in beautiful Jacoby Hall. Other amazing venues included a return to Pilars jazz room in Winter Garden, a sold-out show at Reilly Arts Center in Ocala, new venues, the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, and the beautiful Atmosphere in Vero, Vero Beach, all with the Kelly/Scott Jazztet. Enjoying a 7th year of mentoring almost 100 aspiring jazz students, the Swingin’ Summer Jazz Camp I direct will move to a new, bigger venue this coming July in St. Johns County, with a regarded faculty that now includes former Teacher of the Year, Laurie Zentz. I’m thrilled to be the vocal jazz adjunct, teaching applied voice in the Fall, for the regarded UNF Music School. And the biggest blessing was in completing a CD planned for several years, “Artfully Christmas,” with superbly talented fellow musicians, recording engineer, and photographer, all with years of connection. The work we did together, supported by song co-sponsors, so meaningfully musical, is available on this website for purchase. The last song, Count Your Blessings, is dedicated to family, friends, and to you. Wishing you a year of blessings, sweet love, and inspiring jazz. See you at the gig!
