Lisa Kelly earned her B.M. and M.M. Degrees in Jazz Studies from the University of North Florida (UNF), where she studied with legendary saxophonist Bunky Green, Jack Petersen, Bruce Silva, Don Zentz and Bill Prince. As a student, she won many awards, including the first Mullikin/Matteson Scholarship, various scholarships from the National Endowment for the Arts and jazz societies, five Down Beat Magazine student music awards (1 Best Original Composition, 4 Best Jazz Vocalist), and was the vocal winner with the 2000/IAJE Sisters in Jazz Combo. As the top vocalist with UNF JE I, Lisa was featured on 4 UNF CD recordings and performed on several European tours. Since 2000, she has taught vocal jazz, music theory and jazz combo at UNF, LaVilla Middle SOTA, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, has served as an artist/adjudicator for competitions, including the Lakeside Jazz Festival, and has taught for jazz camps, including the annual North Florida Music Camp at UNF. In 2007, Lisa was the first to present a vocal jazz clinic for both FVA (Florida Vocal Assoc.) and FBA (Florida Bandmasters Assoc.) at the annual FMEA (Florida Music Educators Assoc.) Music Convention in Tampa, FL, has continued to present almost yearly at FMEA, and has been the featured vocalist for the FMEA Jazz Band Reading Session each year since 2000. In 2012, “The Lisa Kelly Quartet” presented the opening performance for the FMEA General Opening Session, receiving a standing ovation, and  Lisa mentored the first student vocalist ever to perform with the FMEA All-state High School Jazz Ensemble. In 2010, Lisa presented a vocal jazz clinic at the inaugural JEN (Jazz Educators Network) Conference, and in 2011, she and JB Scott performed in the famed Roosevelt Hotel’s Blue Room at the 2nd Annual JEN Conference in New Orleans with the "UNF Faculty/Alumni Allstars" featuring them with Bunky Green, Lynne Arriale, Danny Gottlieb and Dennis Marks. Since 2008, Lisa has taught private voice and music theory at the First Coast Community Music School. She is a frequent guest artist/clinician and adjudicator, and maintains a heavy performance schedule. Lisa is a member of FVA, FJE, and a founding member of JEN. In 2010, she was profiled as an international jazz artist/educator in the book, “The New Face of Jazz,” and in May 2013, inducted into the "Jacksonville Jazz Festival Hall of Fame.

JB Scott was the first graduate of the acclaimed University of North Florida Jazz Program, where he now serves as Director of Jazz Studies. He earned his B.A. Degree in Jazz Studies, playing in the UNF JE I under the legendary Rich Matteson. He then earned his M.S. Degree in Music Ed. from Florida International University (FIU) while studying with the famous Arturo Sandoval. JB performed around the world with the Ringling Bros/Barnum & Bailey Circus, played for three years in New Orleans as the trumpeter/musical director of the famed Dukes of Dixieland, and as a free-lance artist in professional jazz ensembles and for the Walt Disney Land Parks. Since 1997, he has been an Assoc. Professor of Jazz at UNF, teaching applied trumpet, other music related courses, and directing the award winning UNF Jazz Ensemble 1 big band, which, under JB’s directorship, was the first jazz big band to perform on the Great Wall of China. JB was the director of the annual UNF Koger Jazz Festival from 2003-2009, and has continued to serve as executive director of the acclaimed "UNF Great American Jazz Concert Series," presenting many of today’s top international jazz artists as guest performers with the UNF JE1. JB is a Warburton Signature Trumpet Artist/Clinician, with frequent performance presentations and workshops that have included the former IAJE (International Assoc. of Jazz Educators) Convention and the 2008 FMEA/FBA Tampa Convention. In 2009, JB was selected to be the Director of the Florida Allstate Jazz Band and the District XIX Jazz Band Director. In 2010, JB Scott and Lisa Kelly presented a vocal jazz clinic at the inaugural JEN (Jazz Educators Network) Conference in St. Louis, and in 2011, performed in the famed Roosevelt Hotel’s Blue Room at the 2nd Annual JEN Conference in New Orleans with the "UNF Faculty/Alumni Allstars," with Bunky Green, Lynne Arriale, Danny Gottlieb and Dennis Marks. JB Scott is a member of FBA, a founding member of JEN and the 2012 FJE president elect. In 2010, he was profiled as an international jazz artist/educator in the book, “The New Face of Jazz,” available on, and was inducted into the Jacksonville Jazz Festival "Hall of Fame" in 2017 .
